Rab’s Story

Rab was referred to us by his Housing Officer as he was using more energy than usual due to staying at home. Due to ill-health, his finances had been affected due to the coronavirus pandemic and he was struggling to top up his meters.

Energy Advisor Anne contacted him to see what support we could provide. We provided Rab with a top-up to get him through the month, however, Rab was also in debt and some of the top-up was taken to repay this.

We contacted his energy supplier, who agreed to give him an additional advance of £20 on both his meters, and postpone his debt repayments for around 2 months to allow him to get back on his feet.

Rab was also running out of food and was unable to travel to his local food bank due to his poor health. We arranged for a food parcel to be delivered to his home.

We also referred Rab to Citizen’s Advice & Rights Fife for help completing forms for disability benefits as he had been struggling to complete these himself.

Rab was very happy with all the help Cosy Kingdom was able to provide to help him get his finances in order.
