- The enhanced rate of the daily living component of Adult Disability Payment on at least 1 day in the full third week of September.
Do people need to apply?
No, in the majority of cases, the award will be made automatically using information provided by the Department for Work and Pensions on those who are eligible.
Eligible households will receive a letter letting them know they qualify.
About the payment
Eligible households will receive an annual payment of £255.80 during the winter to help with their fuel costs. The payment is made per individual rather than per household, so if there is more than one eligible child, the payment will be greater.
Payments will be made from November into the same account as the person receives their Disability Living Allowance or Personal Independence Payment. It will usually be paid to the parent or carer on behalf of the child. Those over 16 can have the payment paid directly to them.
